Bike Rally 2010 Organising Committee has something new to offer participants this year! Able participants, challenge yourself and embark on the 168km extended route!

The 168km route will trace the 128km route, branching out at two junctions and taking participants to close proximity of both Tuas and Woodlands Causeway, before rejoining the route at the next checkpoint.

In our efforts to provide our participants a safer and enjoyable ride, only participants who reach the above mentioned junctions before the cut-off time will be able to embark on the extended route.

Bus Transport from NTU to ECP

The bus will be leaving NTU, Sports and Recreation Centre at 0500h. Please gather at 0430h. Contact Sherilyn (91116338) or Shirleen (92347877).

Post Event

There will be bus service provided to Bedok MRT station and NTU @ $2.00 per person.

Pre-event preparation:
1) Remember to attend the pre-event briefing and collect your unique Bike Rally 2010 event singlet.
2) Ensure adequate nutrition 2 weeks before the event.
3) Have sufficient rest the night before so that you will be ready for the event.
4) Consume enough water the day before to prevent dehydration while cycling.
5) Have a light breakfast in the morning before the event to avoid fatique during the ride, but it is advisable not to overeat.
6) Learn how to train for long distance cycling here.

Registration:
1) Bring along NRIC/Matriculation Card/Student Pass for Registration.
2) Check that you have collected the Participant Tag and ensure that it is properly secured with the safety pins provided.
3) Put on your unique Bike Rally 2010 event singlet.

 

4) Warm up exercise would be conducted before the race.

For participants who rented bike:
1) Adjust the seat height. Get onto the bike and place the ball of your foot directly on top of the pedal spindle, when the crank is at the bottom of the rotation. Your leg should be just slightly bent. If your leg is too bent you will need to raise the seatpost, and vice versa.
2) Ensure that the bicycles are working well by checking the brakes and gear.

During the race:
1) Do keep to a single file along the road.
2) Take note of traffic conditions while cycling.
3) Keep a lookout for marshals who will warn you of danger points or any turns to be made.
4) There will be checkpoints to rest and water points will be provided.
5) Please sound out to the officials if you do not feel well at any point of time.

 

 

Finishing Point:
1) Participants who have completed the race are advised not to obstruct the finishing point.
2) Kindly proceed to an empty area to rest.
3) Please hydrate yourself after completion.
4) Participants are advised to perform proper cool down exercises and stretches upon completion of race.

Goodie Bag and Lucky draw:
1) Upon completion, please proceed to the goodie bag counter to collect the goodie bag. Each participant is entitled to only one goodie bag.
2) Finisher of the full cycling routes will be granted with a Finisher T-shirt.
3) There will be a lucky draw conducted, so please stay back to see if its your Lucky Day!

Post Event:
1) A recovery swim would be encouraged.
2) Rest well after the race.

 

Registration:
1) What are the methods of registration?
Fill in the registration form which can be downloaded from the website under registration. All entries have to be mailed together with a cheque addressed to:

2) How will I know if my registration has been approved?
Registrants will receive a confirmation email upon successful registration. Kindly contact the organiser if you have registered and have not receive any acknowledgement.

3) When will the registration close?
Registration will close on the 7 Feb 2010. No registration will be accepted after this date.

 

 

4) Can I request for a refund?
No, the registration fees are not refundable.

5) How much does it cost to register for Bike Rally 2010?
Registration fee will be $15 for NTU Student/ Staff/ Alumni, and $23 for Public.

6) Can I register on behalf of my friend?
Yes, you may but you need to ensure that you fill in accurate details and the participant is aware of the Rules and Regulations.

Bike Rally Information:
1) Where is the event venue?
East Coast Park

2) Will the event still go on in bad weather?
There are contingency plans in place, and the event will go on unless a decision is made by the Event Organiser to postpone or cancel.

 

 

3) Are the participants insured?
All participants are covered by the events public liability policy.

4) What types of bicycle are allowed?
All single-seater and non-motorised bicycles are allowed.

5) What are the lucky draw prizes available?
More information will be coming soon. Please check the website regularly.

6) Where is the ending point the route?
The ending point for both routes will be at East Coast Park.

On Event Day:
1) When will the event start?
Please refer to the Event Details for the flag off timing.

2) What happens if my bicycle breaks down?
Kindly wait by the road side and await for helpers and vehicles along to route to lend assistance.

 

3) Will there be drink stations along the route?
Drink stations will be available at the checkpoints. Please refer to the Event Details for the checkpoints.

4) At the end of the event, will there be any transport back to NTU provided?
No, but there will be a one-way transport from NTU to East Coast Park in the morning.
